The audience for Soccer Report Extra.com  continues to grow.

This website believes that fans and supporters have interesting and valuable opinions and that this has to be encouraged. The days when fans took what TV, radio and newspapers told them as gospel are dead and buried – thank goodness.

One of the objectives of Soccer Report Extra .Com is to encourage new soccer writers and to bring their writings to a broader audience. Therefore, it is time to move to phase 2.

Do you have a soccer thought or opinion to share but don’t have your own blog or website? Or maybe you only want to write intermittently or just the once?

“The Training Ground” now offers you that opportunity.  You retain ownership and rights to any article  you contribute.

There are two or three caveats. Please do not exceed 800 words, write in proper English and of course the policy for articles is the same as for comments that is paraphrased below.

Please refrain from posting comments that;

  • Attempt to demean, intimidate or bully fellow readers or other contributors
  • Are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, intolerant or otherwise abusive
  • This includes language likely to offend or incite or attempts to try and circumvent this request

Remember your work will be read by a well informed readership so make sure your research is accurate. We all makes errors from time to time but a sloppy article is not likely to make the cut.

Click on “The Training Ground” badge and you will find directions allow you to e mail your contribution to Soccer Report Extra .Com. You may want to prepare your piece in word, rtf or a similar format then copy and paste into the “Training Ground” e mail section.

Also include your name or pen name and a mini bio (no more than 40 words).

Good luck and I look forward to your contributions.

    Excellent idea Bobby! This could be a great springboard for aspiring footy authors to have a forum and build a portfolio. Hats off to you sir for supplying the opportunity to others. I may contribute at some point.

    If someone wishes to contribute articles with their real name and not have their pen name(s) linked to it, I’m assuming this can be accommodated. No?

  2. Real name or a pen name is acceptable either way.

    Wow, I would like to echo the sentiments of Theo- fantastic idea, and opportunity. The reason I am drawn to this website and to the FSR is the intelligent analysis contained there-in. Already thinking of ideas for an article.
    Cheers .

  4. Eaglesoar – when I was writing so Fox Soccer.com I was fortunate that the readers of my blog were often “edgy” but it was also clear that they thought a lot about the game. Since starting Soccer Report Extra the readers are showing the same characteristics. I honestly don’t think this idea would work for a lot of soccer sites but I think it can here.
