The new Premier League season is upon us, and have we got something special for you!  In this week’s Soccer Report Extra Podcast we’re offering up an epic 4-part Premier League Season Preview.  20 teams, drawn (cup-style) into 4 groups of 5, and previewed – at length – ahead of this weekend’s opening round of fixtures.  In Part 1, Bobby & Eoin tackle an interesting blend of title contenders and relegation battlers.  Plus, Eoin caps-off each team preview with a little humour: “if that team were a Hollywood celebrity, who would they be?” (more than worth the price of admission).  Enjoy the first instalment; Parts 2 through 4 will appear one-a-day until Friday, so stay tuned.

  1. After Friday’s FSR I will (and hopefully Eoin and others) will post predictions 1-20, forecast the three promoted teams as well as the Premier League’s top scorer and the top goalkeeper based on shut-outs achieved.

Please feel free to offer your predictions throughout the week, comments on our analysis and any alternates to Eoin’s “if the team was a Hollywood celebrity they would be…” you come to mind.

We are also working on a Fox Soccer Report fantasy league as part of Fox’s free offering.

    Details with hopefully follow soon.

  2. Soccerlogical says:

Bobby – If possible, try setting up a fantasy league group on the official EPL site.

    * Winner gets a date with Michelle Lissel or Colin Jose!

  3. SL – one fantasy football competition is enough for me.

  4. Soccerlogical says:

Sorry, didn’t realize Fox Soccer offered a free league.

Does the M Lissel or Mr Jose date still stand?

  5. A night with you SL is first prize, second prize is two nights out with you.

  6. Eoin O'Callaghan says:

    Third prize is…you’re fired.

  7. Soccerlogical says:

Fair enough and I expect flowers!

  8. TheBarcaKid says:

i just wanna kno who’s gonna be charlie sheen

  9. Erik says:

Eion – are we EVER gonna find out who the Porn Star was that you had a “Vivid” encounter with? That is far more important than any EPL talk

BTW – 2nd Prize is a set of Steak Knives. As Eoin pointed out – 3rd “Prize” is – YOU’RE FIRED!

  10. Looking for a fantasy football league?

Register through the link above and then join League – Fox Soccer Report, Password – Bobby

  11. Soccerlogical says:

Eion – Was the VIVID porn star Ron Jeremy per chance? 🙂

  12. Mark H says:

Alright you rascals, I’ll be representing World Football Daily 🙂

    Bring it on! :-D!

    Mark H

  13. J says:

For those of you agonizing Gooners (Bobby – I know this will kick-start your Hip-Hop collection):

  14. Roberto Manita says:

I’ve always been rather fond of Megan Fox. Heard she’s high maintenance though 😉

  15. Erik says:

SK – I got the impression it was a female – doubt Eion woulda said anything had it been a Guy. For the record – in her prime Racquel Darrian wasn’t the most beautiful woman in that industry – she was the most beautiful woman alive!

  16. Erik says:

I meant to post that to SL

  17. Soccerlogical says:

Instead of familiarizing yourself with these “talented stars”, I would suggest honing your wit and realizing that :)=SARCASM/JOKE!

  18. Roberto Manita says:

SL – I see that you’re still adhering to the tenets of “How to Win Friends and Influence People”. You have no parallel in that arena 😀

Bobby’s prize system above showed uncanny wit in that regard. And don’t forget — You’re fired!!!

  19. Roberto Manita says:

Liverpool – Madonna (her best work was in the ’80s and ever since it’s been rather crap 😆 )

Blackburn – Colonel Sanders (self explanatory)

  20. Roberto Manita says:

Spuds – Charlie Sheen (has always been a bit of an oddball but when he thought he made it big he went completely bonkers)

Newcastle – Mr. Bean (he’s always made me laugh without ever having said a word)

  21. Roberto Manita says:

Stoke – Keith Richards (very hard on the eyes and along with cockroaches the only thing to survive a nuclear assault)

  22. Soccerlogical says:

Manita – I would take offense to your post towards me but judging from these last 3 failed attempts at humor, you are about as funny as watching a bird without a pecker! 🙂

  23. Roberto Manita says:

SL – Sounds like you’re trying to equate my humour to a female bird. To that I say, SL go for a walk and get some fresh air. And I haven’t seen any of your celebrity contributions yet 😛 😎

Everton – Robert Redford (he was very sought after and appealing in his prime but these days he’s getting rough around the edges and the ladies aren’t so fond of him as they once were and he’s getting less work and attention).

  24. Roberto Manita says:

I know it was just a friendly today but taken in context with the recent Copa America I’ve got to say that this is the worst Brasilian NT of my life time. There’s no intimidation factor with them currently whatsoever. They’ve got big concerns ahead of WC2014. And I’m not talking about their stadia preparations.

  25. RDM says:

Hmmm apparently I’m a fan of Arsenal by default according to Fox Soccer, hope this isn’t a sign of an inbuilt partisan problem!
