  1. Bridie Boy says:

Jamie – here. Really enjoyed the podcast. Thanks for answering my questions. Your combined approach always seem so much more logical and analytical than a lot of other pundits. Plus your level of knowledge across leagues everywhere and across time is peerless.

  2. Does everyone have an edit button now when the post a comment?

  3. Jamie – I have re sent a response through your new e mail.

  4. Bryan says:

I was quite disappointed that you didn’t discuss the merits of Luka Modric.

    And speaking of David Luiz.
His new song made it’s debut last Sunday ,to the tune of “I love You baby”…

“Oh David Luiz, you are the love of my life,

Oh David Luiz, you can shag my wife,

Oh David Luiz, I want curly hair toooo.”

  5. Boris says:

Bobby, I did notice the edit option. We needed it.

  6. Bryan – written by John Terry?

  7. Bryan says:

    Bobby – My edit/delete button isn’t working.
I tried to delete your last comment but it’s still there.

  8. Bryan – one step at a time. As long as yours is working.

  9. By the way – we should use this as an open thread for any games today. Still have trouble getting use to Friday international matches

  10. greg mclauchlin says:

Austria-Belgium is probably the pick of the lot. Their last game finished 4-4 and every game in that group is important. Germany will win the group easily but Austria, Belgium and Turkey are fighting for 2nd.

  11. Soccerlogical says:

I was really looking forward to Wales v England, but now that Bale has “suddenly” been ruled out I think the match lost its luster.

Bobby – Any thoughts on this Speed vs Redknapp
“He said She said” regarding Bale’s fitness?

  12. Bale fitness – media event.

For Canadian readers TSN2 has the Wales – England game at 11:00 EST tomorrow.

  13. Gus Keri says:

Spain vs Czech Rep. is the pick of the day.
On ESPN2 in the USA in one hour

  14. rdm says:

That’s good to know about the Wales/England game. Something for me to watch after the morning tryout!

Also this is to test whether I’ll be able to edit posts…

    Edit – Success!

Edit x 2 – Incidentally, what is the timer for? It’s ticking down from 30 minutes, do I dare let it drop to 00:00?! Or (more mundanely) do posts simply stop being editable after half an hour?

  15. Gus Keri says:

The rebels, Evra and Ribery, are starting for France.

  16. 30 minute time on the edit feature

Northern Ireland leading Serbia 1-0 in Belgrade – Chris Baird the scorer

  17. Gus Keri says:

Mexes scored for france on a header from a free kick

  18. Gus Keri says:

45 minutes have passed and no walk out in the French camp yet.

All the Dutch guns have fired against Hungary; VDV, RVP, Kuyt and Afellay

  19. Soccerlogical says:

Safe to say that VdV is playing in a more withdrawn role a la Modric (similar to his days at Hamburg) … and quite successfully against a decent Hungarian side with the likes of Gera and Dzudzak?

    Sorry TVN 🙂

Wow, Northern Ireland are awful… like watching a League One side.

  20. Gus Keri says:

Mice to see that Baros is still alive.
    Torres started on the bench

  21. Gus Keri says:

I just found out that, in preparation for Canada, the US will play Spain on June 4th.

It means that the US will have played Brazil, Argentina amd Spain within 10 months period.

Plasil gave Czech Rep the lead. The way they are playing they may come up with a win like what the Swiss did in the WC.

  22. Boris says:

Doesn’t Baros have like a ridiculous International goal scoring record?

  23. Gus Keri says:

So far, all went as planned for the top European teams.

Holland, Italy and France stretched their leads at the top of their groups to 6, 5 and 4 points respectively.

Torres came on at the start of the second half. Will Spain follow suit?

  24. Gus Keri says:

A good come back win by Spain. They stretched their lead in their group to 6 points.

Czech Rep didn’t do a good “Swiss” job, after all.

Villa now is leading the goalscoring table for Spain with 46 goals, two more than Raul.

Although Torres didn’t score today but he did what he does always, keep the defense busy and allow for his partner to shine.

  25. Jim Haskayne says:

Why are there Mexican club teams playing in the Copa Libertadores when Mexico is in Concacaf.

  26. Slava says:

It’s always pleasure to listen to your podcasts guys ..

I have one big thing to ask though ..
Is there any way you can increase the recording volume level ??
I usually listen to the podcasts in the car via FM transmitter->Car radio . For SoccerReportExtra I have to set volume to the MAX (32) , and I can still barely hear you on the highway 🙂

Most of other podcasts can be heard normally at volume 20-25 🙂

    Thanks a lot!
